FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for teachers and parents.
Getting started
Do I need to install anything?
No. Brainy Badger runs in a web browser on Chromebooks, laptops, tablets and phones. Touchscreens get an on-screen keypad, and anything with a keyboard can just type.
How do I set up my class?
Create a teacher account, create a room and share its room code, customize your math settings, then let students play. Check Manage Room to see games, equations and time. The How It Works page walks through each step.
Students and privacy
Do students need an email address?
No. Students sign in with a made-up nickname, a PIN you can see and reset, and a first name so you can tell who is who.
What can I see as a teacher?
Games played, equations answered and time spent, for the whole class and for each student, plus class leaderboards.
Are there ads?
No. There are no ads, and no avatars, shops or coins to pull attention away from the math.
How is student information handled?
Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect and why.
The games and the math
How long does a game take?
Every game plays as a 60-second drill or in endless mode. A 60-second run fits warm-ups, bell ringers, exit tickets and transitions.
What math can students practice?
You choose: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, number size, negatives and three-term problems. You can lock the settings for everyone in your room, so every student practices the same math.
Which grades is it for?
Because you choose the math, you can match it to your grade level. See our 4th grade and 5th grade pages for more.
What makes Brainy Badger different?
Every move is a math problem. In most educational games the game is one activity and the math is another. In Brainy Badger every action is an equation, so students are practicing the entire time. Why Brainy Badger says more.
How many games are there?
More than two dozen, with more added over time. Browse them all.
How do I contact you?
